About the Artist Artist Statement My work in acrylic, is figurative and symbolist in nature. I paint the human figure and portraits, almost exclusively. I am drawn to the bodys shapes, forms and lines, formally. It can be sensual, beautiful, political, and spiritual. Our bodies are tools of communication, expression and connection, and yet they keep us eternally separate from one another. We can empathize with each other as human beings, but ones personal perspective is uniquely ones own, as we are the sole/soul occupants of our own bodies. My work is very personal, inspired by the people in my life and my experiences. It is my hope that the viewer will connect with the larger Human experience and find something in the work that resonates with them. We are separate, but not alone.
