About the Artist Throughout her life, Courtney Schrader has practiced many forms of meditation and mindfulness such as yoga, pranayama and Tibetan singing bowl meditation. During her exploration of these techniques, Courtney discovered nature meditation. This form of meditation is performed outside in natural surroundings and assists in enlivening the basic intelligence of nature in our awareness. The experience of nature meditation can improve wellbeing, and help set our lives into a more natural rhythm. With her love of meditation and mindfulness practices in mind, Courtney set out to educate her wider community about the benefits of these techniques in fighting mental illness such as depression and anxiety. She uses photography as a medium to educate the public about the benefits of meditation, and it’s power to lessen worry, fear, loneliness and depression. Courtney believes that everyone can achieve an increase in their emotional wellbeing, and self-acceptance by practicing simple meditations on a daily basis.
